What is Roamis? How is it different from a physical SIM card?

Roamis is a travel eSIM — instead of swapping a physical SIM, you download the plan onto your phone. You keep your original number for calls and texts, and use Roamis just for data.

Does my phone support it?

Accepted Answer

Any eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone works. Note that some models (for example, certain Korea-market Galaxy models before the S23) don't support eSIM. Please check [Device Compatibility] before you buy.

Do I need an account to buy? How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

You can check out as a guest — no account needed. Just enter your email and phone number, and pay with KakaoPay, NaverPay, Toss, or card (international customers: global cards, Apple Pay, and more).

After buying, how do I receive the eSIM? How long does it take?

As soon as payment is done, the QR code appears right on the order confirmation page, and is also sent by email and KakaoTalk (or SMS). You'll usually receive it immediately after payment.

How far in advance should I buy?

We recommend buying and installing before departure. Install before you go; activate (start using) after you arrive. If it stays unused, a full refund is available within 90 days of purchase.

How do I install the eSIM?

There are three ways — ① one-tap install button (iPhone), ② scan the QR code, ③ manual (LPA) entry. Most people finish with one-tap or QR. See the [Install Guide] for step-by-step help.

Do I need an internet connection to install?

Accepted Answer

Yes — installation needs a Wi-Fi or data connection. We recommend installing beforehand on your home or hotel Wi-Fi. On arrival, you only need to activate.

How many eSIMs can one phone hold? Will it overwrite my original SIM?

Accepted Answer

Most phones can store multiple eSIMs and switch between them. Installing Roamis does not erase your existing SIM or number — you simply set data to use Roamis.

Are the install steps the same on iPhone and Android?

The overall flow is the same, but menu names and locations differ a bit. The [Install Guide] covers iPhone and Galaxy (Android) separately, with images.

When does the plan period / usage start counting?

Accepted Answer

Your plan period starts when data connects and activates at your destination. Merely installed (not yet activated) means the period hasn't started. Check the plan card for the exact terms.

Can I still make calls and receive texts on my number?

Yes. Roamis is data-only. Keep your original number and calls/texts stay on your home carrier while data runs on Roamis. (We suggest turning off roaming on your home line to avoid roaming charges.)

Can I use a hotspot / share with others?

Hotspot (tethering) availability can vary by plan and region, so it's marked on each plan card. Please check the "hotspot" note on the card before buying.

Can one plan cover multiple countries?

There are single-country plans and regional (multi-country) plans. Each card lists the countries it covers, so pick the one that matches your itinerary.

How do I check remaining data / days?

You can check remaining data and days on the order lookup page, and we'll notify you by KakaoTalk/email as you reach certain usage levels. (Real-time usage will be even easier in the upcoming app.)

Can I top up when it runs out?

Yes — you can top up (extend or repurchase) on the web when needed. Even if your trip runs long, there's no need to swap to a new SIM.

Can I get a refund? What is the refund policy?

We offer a 100% refund in two cases — ① if it's still unused (not activated), within 90 days of purchase; ② if a device issue prevents installation or connection. These conditions are shown right on the plan page, with nothing hidden.

Can I still get a refund after activating or using it?

Once activated and in use, a plan generally isn't refundable. But if you had connection trouble, reach our 24h support first — we'll help fix it, so please don't hesitate to ask.

How long do refunds take, and where are they returned?

Refunds go back to your original payment method. Timing can vary by payment provider or card issuer; we'll share the expected timeframe when you request it.

I installed it, but there's no data / it won't connect at my destination. What do I do?

Don't worry — check in order: ① is "data roaming" ON for the Roamis line, ② is your data line set to Roamis, ③ toggle airplane mode off and on, ④ if still nothing, select the network manually. If it still won't connect, our 24h KakaoTalk support will help right away.

It shows as installed, but it doesn't work / there's no signal

If it shows installed but has no signal, it's usually a line setting (data/roaming) issue — try the E1 steps first. It also helps to verify your device supports eSIM/that region in [Device Compatibility]. If it's still unresolved, our support will guide you to a backup solution.

The QR code won't scan / the one-tap install button doesn't respond

If the QR won't scan, raise screen brightness or display the QR on another device to scan it. If the one-tap button doesn't respond, use QR or manual (LPA) instead. All three methods are in the [Install Guide].

Slow speeds / unstable network

Accepted Answer

Speeds can vary with local network conditions — while moving, underground/indoors, or in crowded places. Try moving, toggling airplane mode, or selecting the network manually. If it persists, contact support and we'll look into it.
